Good afternoon Park Street,
As the world around us begins to open back up, I wanted to inform you of our current plans moving forward. As of today, we are planning a return to in-person worship on Sunday, June 14th. On that day we will hold one outdoor worship service at 8:30 am. We are working on a way to continue the live stream for those of us who would continue to prefer that option.
We are asking everyone to bring their own chair or blankets to sit on. We will have masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer available, however, due to the limited supply, we strongly encourage everyone to provide their own.
We ask that you refrain from physical contact with one another such as hugs, shaking hands, etc., and that families and individuals please sit 6 feet apart from one another. We will be collecting offerings at one central location, however, we strongly encourage you to continue to use the online giving option on our website instead.
We will be incorporating a special children’s lesson into the order of worship in place of nursery and Kid’s Zone. We will also be distributing video links, activities, crafts, and supplies to every family in the near future to allow them to have their own Kid’s Zone lessons and crafts at home.
While evaluation of the situation will be ongoing, we foresee this format lasting for much, if not all, of the summer. In the event of rain, in-person worship will be canceled and we ask that everyone worship with us via the live stream online.
The decision to return to in-person worship is not one that we as a church have taken lightly. I want to thank the staff and church leadership of Park Street for their tireless efforts in constructing a plan that we believe allows us to return to in-person worship safely.
However, I also want to make clear that just because in-person worship is returning, that doesn’t mean you are expected to be in attendance. If you are nervous, concerned, at-risk, or in a vulnerable population then please give this decision serious thought. In fact, I encourage each and every family to have an honest and prayerful conversation around this topic and what you are or are not comfortable with.
As always, if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me directly. I have missed you all tremendously, but I have found comfort in knowing that just because we have been socially distanced, our mission has not. Our church is more active now than ever, and I look forward to our continued work.
Blessings,
Pastor David
